Achilles tendonitis

Achilles tendonitis is one of the more common problem in running athletes, especially on the hard road surfaces. It is more common in athletes over teh age of 40. Achilles tendon injuries heal slowly as they do not have a direct blood supply and rely on blood flowing in from sheaths that surround the tendon.
