Cuboid Syndrome

Cuboid syndrome is a relativly common injury in those who run for fitness and training. It is caused when the cuboid bone is unstable and not locked into place. When the lateral leg muscles, the peroneal muscles contract, the tendons that use the cuboid as its pulley try and sublux it or move it out of place. This movement strains the calacneo-cuboid joint. Those runners with a flat are much more likely to get cuboid syndrome. Poor running shoes are also thought to be a factor in cuboid
