Charcots foot is a complication of the foot in those with diabetes mellitus. Technically, it is refered to as Charcots neuroarthropathy. The prevalence of charcots foot in those with diabetes is less than 1%. A common complication in diabetes is damage to the nerves, known as diabetic neuropathy.
