Hallux Rigidus

Hallux rigidus is a problem of the big toe joint of the foot. Hallux is the technical name for the great or big toe and rigidus mean rigid, so hallux rigidus is a condition in which the big to joint does not move. This is an important joint that a lot of movement is needed as it is the joint that we move the foot and whole body forward over when we walk or run. The joint acts as a pivot.
