The Jones Fracture
The Jones fracture is a fracture that occurs at the base of the fifth metatarsal of the foot. Of all fractures that occur in that part of the foot, the Jones fracture is the most common. This particular fracture was first described by and orthopaedic surgeon who himself had the fracture, hence the name: Jones fracture.
