Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is probably the most common cause of heel pain in adults by a significant margin. Plantar fasciitis is the inflammation or degeneration of the long ligament (the plantar fascia) that hold up the arch of the foot. The most common symptom of plantar fasciitis is pain at the bottom of the heel that is worse when getting up from rest, particularly getting out of bed first thing in the morning. Plantar fasciitis can result in those first few steps being very difficult and painful.
